Still one of the most useful tools in the box, the BLEED THROUGH BLUE marker helps fabricators mark steel once and have the marks remain visible throughout the fabricating and erecting process. After primer coats are applied the marks bleed through and remain clearly visible.

There are many specifications written covering Anchor Bolts but the predominant one we see called out on drawings is ASTM F1554. The most current version is ASTM F1554-20. It covers exclusively the requirements for manufacturing Cast In Place Anchor Bolts.

Fluorogold® Slide Bearings: Design Tips for Effective & Prolonged Use
The Steel Supply company carries many options when it comes to slide bearings, including: Fluorogold®, Teflon® (PTFE, or polytetrafluoroethylene), Carbon Filled PTFE, and Graphite.
Maskote Zinc Stop-off, Prevent Galvanization on a Steel Surface
Oftentimes a masking material is applied to steel prior to galvanization. The masking agent prevents galvanization from occurring on the steel surface to which it l is applied. This can be useful for several reasons. The Steel Supply Company most commonly sees masking materials used on threaded bolts. If a precise fit is required between the threading and its nut, the additional width that galvanization creates within the threads can cause an issue. While this is a common use case for masking material, there are a myriad of other applications.
Galvanized Vent Hole Plug Series: Vent & Drain Hole Placement
In the last post about galvanized vent hole plugs, we covered the difference between aluminum and zinc vent hole plugs and the circumstances in which each one is best suited.
When using oil based steel primer, temperature at the time of coating is important. Paint will dry at a slower rate in colder temperatures and its drying solvents can evaporate away before drying is complete, leaving a clay-like film in its place. This is called 'cold curing'.
All vent hole plugs are designed for the same purpose, to seal the vent and drainage holes made in a steel component during the galvanization process. While their functionality is simple, the choice of whether to use aluminum or zinc vent hole plugs can be more complicated.
