FLUOROGOLD® Slide Bearings are made from a special formulation of PTFE (Teflon®) that is re-informed with a glass fiber aggregate. This provides a structural material that has significant compressive strength without cold flow, yet retains the low friction (.06) and chemically inert characteristics of unfilled PTFE.

A standard assembly is 3/32" teflon® bonded to 1/8" thick carbon steel. The designation that often appears on shop drawings is FC-1010-CS. This designation will vary if the Slide Bearing steel plate is stainless steel or if the thickness changes.

All other configurations can be made to order, including thick carbon steel plates, stainless steel and even commercial grade rubber (see Fig. 1. below)

Any size or configuration Slide Bearing can be made to order. As well, substrate materials can be varied to suit any application. Stainless Steel, Hot Dip Galvanized Carbon Steel, even Commercial Grade Neoprene Rubber.

 As Fig. 1 to left shows Slide Bearings are also used in Machinery applications. Another very common use for Slide Bearings is Oil and Gas Pipelines.
