Korolath Plastic Shims
Korolath® is a multi-polimer plastic specially formulated for the construction industry. It is a hard plastic that can withstand over 4,500 psi. (See Compressive Strength note below)
While providing permantent support it will not rust or stain, it is impervious to fluids, oils and micro organisms.
Korolath® can be machined to specific dimensions and shapes.
Korolath Plastic Shims - Compressive Strength
(Note: All results are stated as examples only. Not for use in engineering. Specific product data can be supplied upon request.)
Compressive strength varies based on material and thickness. In testing the materials results have been found as follows;
Polypropylene - 5,500 to 8,000 psi
Hi-Impact Polystyrene - 6,000-8,000 psi
Polyethylene - 2,000 to 5,500 psi
ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) - 6,500 to 7,500 psi
As thickness increases compressive strength decreases. For example, for the same material at 1/16" thick the compressive strength may be 8,000 psi while at 1/4" thick compressive strength may be 4,000 psi
